Whitby Wizard: hands-on science

Science is a Wizard day out!

The Whitby Wizard is a great day out for all the family. It is the first science centre museum in North Yorkshire and is modelled on the world famous Exploratorium in San Fransisco. It contains the quirkiest collection of exciting hands-on exhibits in the region and is suitable for both adults and children. There are nearly 100 hands-on science experiments for you to try!

The museum can be found on the West Cliff in Whitby and is directed by Mr. Dag Kjelldahl, a Norwegian adventurer and educator. Mr. Kjelldahl started Norway's first science centre back in 1986. The Teknoteket in Oslo receives 140,000 visitors each year! In fact, it is now part of the Norsk Teknisk Museum.

Be entertained AND educate yourself at the same time! What could be better?

Open 11-5 weekends and holidays all year.

Open weekdays from Easter through September, except Mondays.

Closed all January.
