Whitby Musicport 2007

The UK's biggest indoor World Music Festival

Tickets have now gone on sale for this year's Whitby Musicport Festival which will be held at the Whitby Pavilion.

The event will run from 19 - 21 October and is expected to be a sell-out. Early bookings include:

• Linton Kwesi Johnson

• Kekele

• Black Voices

• Muntu Valdo

• The Lal Waterson Project

Of particular interest are Varttina who hail from Finland. They were one of the highlights of WOMAD 2006 and, at present, they are working on the score for the West End musical of Lord of the Rings.

There are still further names to be announced for the festival, so keep checking back.

Also, there are many other events and concerts planned for 2007. A major project is underway to provide Whitby with a high quality dedicated music venue. Come along and support the cause!
