Whitby Gothic Weekend

The Whitby Gothic Weekend is now so popular that it runs twice a year and includes events throughout the week as well! These weekends are brilliant events and are well placed in Whitby with its gothic abbey and Dracula links. (If you've been to a Gothic Weekend before, did you have a beach party? If so, scroll to the bottom of the page and tell the whole world about it. Spread the Goth Word!) The festival is organised by Jo Hampshire who runs Top Mum Promotions and is one of the most popular gothic events in the world. Most events are held in the as well as the Metropole Hotel on West Cliff. Other venues include the Resolution Hotel on Skinner Street and the Walrus and Carpenter tea rooms on Church Street. Popular pubs with the goth community include the New Angel Inn and the Elsinore. The events always sell-out and this is good news for the town's business community.
Bands for 2008 (Friday 25th April) include: Star Industry Skeletal Family Cauda Pavonis Dyonisis
